TRUST, OUR SACRED EMOTION
 

How can you trust again,
when you hurt deep inside,
you feel so fragile,
with doubt you can't hide.

How could you lie so easily,
and hurt me so much,
and now I don't feel comfort,
at all in your touch.

How could I be so foolish,
and let myself be hurt this way,
I trusted you with my all,
and now I'm all alone today.

If I can't trust,
how can I love again,
and if I can't believe,
if not now, then when?

As I sit and my mind spins around,
thinking of all that we had,
I remember the first time you lied,
and how I then felt so bad.

Suddenly I realize that was the key,
and it shifts the blame to me,
for you didn't do anything I didn't buy,
it was my denying, now I can see!!

For when love starts to seem to sour,
it does not happen so fast,
takes longer than minutes or an hour,
it starts when that FIRST doubt has been cast.

At that point it is you,
who allows it to grow,
and when it reaches the end,
and you deny it, you KNOW.

So your future is not so bad,
you CAN trust once again it seems,
but BE SURE, when doubt creeps along,
don't hide your head in your dreams!!
