NATURE AT PLAY

Have you ever stopped,
during your busy day,
not only to smell the roses,
but to watch nature at play?

For while we scurry about,
with our list of things to do,
nature is busy all the while,
and it's all in front of you.

Take a walk outside in your yard,
take a slow stroll along,
become aware of what is there,
listen to the bluebirds song.

Nature never takes a break,
doesn't have time to rest,
hummingbirds go non stop,
back and forth flowers to nest.

One little wonder,
has energy of no ends,
the tiny little spider,
spinning his web, see how it blends?

You can see him spinning,
from day until night,
he just goes on and on and on,
it is quite an amazing sight.

The web is incredible,
as strong as string or even wire,
such, the wonder that is nature,
nothing makes the little guy tire.

When at last, the cobweb is done,
it is like his banquet table set,
now it can only sit and wait,
to see what traffic he'll get.

Nature takes no vacation,
no paid sick time away,
take some time to observe,
will a mantis really pray?
