THE POWER OF SELF

If it needs to be done,
I must go forth and do it,
it is my choice, with my effort,
it is the power of SELF.

So many will say,
it is the power of prayer,
that brings forth the good,
and that if good does not result,
it was that you didn't pray enough.

If something needs to be done,
we can go forth and do it,
we can go forth, plus we can pray,
when the results come in,
what caused it to be so ?

If we go forth with honest effort,
and also pray for the good,
and only bad happens as a result,
what caused it to be so ?

See, people are so quick to thank prayer,
for any good and positive results,
and so quick to point at you,
if the good and positive don't appear.

The never ending cycle,
at making one feel small,
always needing to thank prayer,
always needing to blame yourself.

The power of the SELF,
is something that is a part of living,
to use it and to build upon it,
to make you stronger and worthwhile.

To those who rely on a outside source,
to those who believe in prayer,
it is man made to belittle you,
to make you always feel small.

We are and we choose,
to be strong or to put ourself under,
but, the power of the SELF,
is the road I'll always travel.

If something turns out wrong,
I'll accept and I'll learn,
I'll feel no less power,
I'll feel no less self respect.

For, I know who I am,
for I know what power I have,
for I thank myself for what I do,
for I love myself, even when I fail.

If things need to be done,
they are for me to do,
they are for me to accomplish,
they are for me to build upon.

I'll ask no other to do,
what is for me to do myself,
I'll have no one to thank,
I'll have no other to blame.

Life is what nature provides,
cycles, cycles and cycles again,
choosing is the power we have,
it is the power of the SELF.
