YOU DIDN'T KNOW
You aimed your hate,
and brought death to our land,
but, my friend, about Americans,
you just don't understand.You should have studied history,
to find out how we came,
to be the people we are,
and why we are UNITED, to remain.You should have found out what,
we have overcome in the past,
and what makes us what we are,
you'll be learning quite fast.You didn't know about Jackie Robinson,
and the lesson he taught us all,
you didn't know about Abe Lincoln,
he was much more than just tall.You didn't know about Jim Thorpe,
and what he had to endure,
you didn't know about Daniel Boone,
what he showed us so sure.You didn't know about John Wayne,
who was larger than life we know,
you didn't know about Bob Dylan,
who taught us really how to grow.You didn't know about FDR,
and all he stood for,
you didn't know about Paul Revere,
how we learned the score.You didn't know about Willie Mays,
and the feelings he brought,
you didn't know about Ben Franklin,
the lessons of life he taught.You didn't know about Buddy Holly,
as American through and through,
you didn't know about Davy Crockett,
and the spirit he did show.You didn't know about John F. Kennedy,
and the power he did show,
you didn't know Thomas Jefferson,
you just didn't know.You didn't know Helen Keller,
how she saw the light,
you didn't know Jesse Owens,
who gave all his might.You've misjudged Americans,
thinking us a soft, easy touch,
you don't understand UNITED,
you don't understand too much.You didn't know Henry Ford,
and the methods he used,
you didn't know Thomas Edison,
he wouldn't be amused.Instead of tearing us apart,
you have made us even stronger,
for we have become MORE UNITED,
and won't be terrorized any longer.We are Americans, PROUD AND TALL,
we are UNITED as we respond to you,
we will do whatever it takes,
we'll do all that we need to do.We have worked hard and long,
many lives; much blood has been paid,
for sure, one such as you,
won't destroy what we have made.
