THE GREATEST
 

The greatest disappointment,
you'll ever know,
if you've given up, and settled,
and don't even try any more,
will be the moment last,
when "expired" flashes to your mind,
when you hear a million "WHYS,"
being echoed through your head,
as you at once realize,
tomorrow is no more.

The greatest love of your life,
is the one you may not know,
it's the one you spend each moment with,
who knows you inside out,
who knows all your secrets,
who knows all your fears,
who has been there with you,
through all of the years,
the love is YOU.

The greatest fear you've ever known,
is the one you have planted and fed,
the one you allow to rule you,
the one you believe is true,
the one that controls your life,
the image you have painted,
the one that keeps you from living,
the one that chokes your hopes and dreams,
the one that you are afraid to think of,
the one you are afraid to fight,
and the fear is YOU.

The greatest friend you'll ever have,
is the one who sets you free,
who unlocks the cage,
who cuts the ropes,
who shoots the demon,
who holds your hand,
who makes you smile,
who gives you hope,
who wants your happiness,
who allows you to grow,
who allows you to live,
who allows you to be,
and the friend is YOU.

The greatest wonder of your life,
is in your mind right now,
it is the power of you,
to do as you want,
to be who you want,
to accomplish whatever you seek,
to succeed at whatever you desire,
to overcome your every fear,
to stop wasting your time in fear,
the power of a decision,
the decision to BE,
and YOU are the wonder.

The greatest illusion of your life,
is to give your power away,
to believe there is one beyond you,
who is stronger than you,
who knows you better,
who gave you anything,
that you didn't give yourself,
to think you can be helped,
to think you can be saved,
to think you can be protected,
without helping, saving or protecting yourself,
YOU are the power, KEEP IT !

Humans have a NEED to be needed,
a NEED to be valued,
it is the human competiveness that controls,
your friends, your family and your loves,
don't really want you to change,
they remain in their comfort zone as you are,
if you change you threaten the status quo that they live,
you upset their balance, their validation of WHO they are,
that is why they like you as you are,
as you are, you NEED them,
they like that,
as you are you comfort them,
for they have THEIR needs in YOU.

The deadliest germ in your life,
is the belief in THEY,
thinking THEY are on your side,
for each is on his OWN side,
giving your power away,
giving your control away,
giving yourself away,
are the germs and the poison of life.

The most dangerous person you know,
is the you who isn't you,
the you who is all others,
and all they've told you,
and all they've fed you,
and the you that you gave away,
believing THEY knew the answers.

Of the cages, the locks, the chains,
that keep you from being free,
that keep you confined,
that keep you controlled,
that make each hill seem,
like the HIGHEST mountain,
that make each challenge seem,
like the DEEPEST ocean,
that make each difficulty seem,
like the WIDEST river,
that make each goal seem,
like the most DISTANT star,
these are for YOU to correct your focus,
and see them for what they are,
just LITTLE, SMALL, HARMLESS things,
that YOU, bit by bit, and piece by piece,
can CONQUER, and WIN.

The greatest thrill you will ever know,
is to one day be free,
to cut the ropes,
and let the winds take you,
to follow your dreams,
to follow your thoughts,
to follow your desires,
to find the REAL you,
to find the FUN you,
to find the SMILING you,
to find the little child,
that you were,
when you last wished,
upon a distant star.
