YOU ARE

You are, by the power of you,
everything you've ever known,
you are each pound you've gained,
and every inch you've grown.

You are every passion you're felt,
and every tear you've cried,
you are every dream you've dreamt,
and all you've ever tried.

You are the vision of happiness,
you are the despair of alone,
you are crying to sleep,
or giggling on the phone.

You are the victim of life,
you are the accused,
you are the key and the lock,
you are the one who refused.

You are the judge and the jury,
you are the jailer and jailed,
you are all that has gone right,
you are each thing that's failed.

You are the love you run to,
you are the fear you run from,
you are each battle ever lost,
you are all the games won.

You are your greatest friend,
and the one you fear most,
you are the buyer of the bread,
and the burner of the toast.

You are all that you are.
and also what you are not,
you are the one who is coolest,
and the one who is so hot.

There is no escape of who you are,
for the finger points at you,
you are a piece in someone's life,
a negative, or a positive true.

You are each pain you feel,
and each smile that spread,
you are as thick as a chain,
or as thin as a thread.

You are the fun of your life,
you are the worst you've known,
you are the rainbow so alive,
or a nightmare all your own.

You are the clock, and the tick,
the calendar and the days,
you are the reason you are,
not sometimes, but always.

You are the master of time,
you are each cent you've earned,
you are the money thrown away,
and each lesson you've learned.

You are the reason you can smile,
you are the reason if you don't,
you are the cause if you believe,
you are to blame if you don't.

You invite good in your life,
you also bring the bad,
you are each and every thing,
you know and you've had.

If you remain the same as you were,
if you're the same tomorrow,
if your now is not so good,
you are inviting more sorrow.

You'll never have different results,
until you change how you feel,
for you are the only one,
who can make happiness real.

You are the laughs you've laughed,
you are the tears and the pain,
you can turn it all around,
in the days that remain.

You must be willing to accept you,
the you as you are right now,
you must admit it is only you,
admitting and accepting are the how.

You are the one who will win,
if you are willing to try,
and if you stay as you are,
you are the one who will cry.
