NATURE SAW US
 

Nature saw us years ago,
when we were young and in love,
and all we shared and dreamt of,
was witnessed by stars above.

Holding hands, carrying books,
walks through rains and snow,
learning life, learning love,
and nature watched us grow.

Reflecting back to those days,
reflecting where I am today,
remembering the fears and tears,
still hoping you are ok.

The sun turned dark, good turned bad,
as the relationship played itself out,
and I can still remember so well,
when our love was never a doubt.

Long, long ago, and so far, far away,
we both have grown and know,
that nature saw us when we were,
so many years and tears ago.

Many phases have come and gone,
and many more to come along,
and nature knows that what we had,
should never have gone so wrong.

And now the memories put to rest,
with stillness and quiet around me,
and nature knows I thought of you,
across the many many miles of the sea.
