HEARTBREAK TRAIL
 

You may all think I am cool,
in full control of the words,
never bothered by anything,
sitting and writing strange thoughts.

I try to help people each day,
I also do business on line,
I try to show and be as a friend,
I try to give all of myself.

To give an idea of what I mean,
I will tell of heartbreak trail,
of all the ones whom I've tried to help,
only to get rejected because of mistrust.

I live in California,
enjoying the sunshine each day,
but I do business all around,
and have quite a tale to tell.

I tried helping a friend in Missouri,
tried for a very long time,
we shared much pain and hurt,
Missouri is on heartbreak trail.

There were two in Arkansas,
who wanted and needed help too,
though much time and energy later,
Arkansas is on heartbreak trail.

Ohio, one of my favorite places,
there were several there that I met,
oh, the long months and calls,
you all know who you are.

There were numerous in New York,
at each end of the state,
but it all ended in the same,
New York on heartbreak trail.

Out here in California,
I can't begin to count how many,
all so sincere and friendly,
all a different story to tell.

There was also one in Maryland,
I'm sure this will bring a smile,
as though the help was sure needed,
another stop along the trail.

North Carolina, what can I say,
how many, 4 or was it 5,
trying so hard to be of help,
only to end up the same.

Texas, I knew many there also,
I can still recall so well,
the trouble there was and yet again,
another stop along the way.

New Jersey, a pain rings through,
to think what I gave and tried,
to think of how hard I tried,
now only history as the others.

Florida, a pain still fresh,
not even a explanation given,
perhaps this is the biggest question,
and yet forward I will go.

Pennsylvania, one end to next,
a big game I think was played,
I remain who and what I am,
I still look into my mirror.

I have also had the trail,
spend much time in Tennessee,
a pain that hurt quite badly,
as the effort took so much.

There was Alabama,
There was Virginia,
There was Michigan,
and Connecticut hurt a lot.

There was Minnesota,
and also Nevada,
Washington was included,
and one in Montana.

Indiana is on the list,
at least a couple times,
can't forget Iowa,
and even Oklahoma.

You can see by heartbreak trail,
not too many remain untouched,
I remain here as I am,
I am stronger than broken words.

I'll remain a man of my word,
I'll remain true to myself,
I'll remain captain of my ship,
I'll remain with the HOPE of people.
