IT DON'T MATTER

It don't matter,
if you listen to a word I say,
I don't matter,
if you refuse to believe,
for in time fate will show you,
what's up its mysterious sleeve.

Some day your path will intersect,
with that dreaded LEGAL LANE,
you'll try going around it,
you'll try going under or over,
you'll try to ignore,
you'll be in a real pain.

You'll ask others for advice,
you'll be in the yellow pages,
you'll see names on bus stop benches,
you'll find $200 an hour rides,
across that lane,
you may remember me.

It may come as a will needed,
it may come as a speeding ticket,
with insurance costs rising,
it may come as a IRS audit,
it may come as a barking,
or as a biting dog,
it may come as a divorce,
it may come as you being wronged.

It may show as a contract you must sign,
that you don't know what it says,
it may come as a collection letter,
for money you don't owe,
it may come as a need of your child,
in college across the country,
LEGAL LANES show all of a sudden,
and are smack there in our lives.

It don't matter,
if you laugh at me now,
it don't matter,
for I know I try to help,
but it don't matter,
if you can heed the warning,
or how strong your mistrust is.
