I'VE GOT AN IDEA
An idea flashed its way,
into my mind today,
was it planted or sent,
or born or meant?Regardless of how,
it came, it is now,
its as true likely as not,
it's time to dump, or get off the pot.We have a leader who wants to fight,
they say he's wrong, he insists he's right,
I say bring home troops, lay down arms,
let him deal it himself, no other harms.Let them fight in the ring,
let them yell or sing,
it is what he wants to do,
yet he involves me and you.Let them battle with prayer,
and see who gets answered there,
let them see if God will choose sides,
what better way to prove their prides.Of course, no answer will come,
nothing will happen or be done,
let them pray, day after day,
think what they will, say what they say. They will come to realize,
right before their very eyes,
that God blesses all equally,
not just blessing randomly. They may also realize,
right before their eyes,
that no one gets blessed,
who could have ever guessed ?For you see, it is all the same,
if all, or none, this remains,
it is equal for each and all,
no favorites to rise or fall. This is God's world you all say,
and he is perfect in every way,
do you expect he's wrong today,
is THAT the reason you will pray ?What if God created this all,
then left it and us, to rise or fall,
what if he went into retirement,
and never responded to a message sent?God favors none over another,
we're all alike, sister or brother,
to think one is blessed and one is not,
is like thinking every fire is not hot. This world is here, this world is ours,
we need to live, not pray for hours,
what will be is what we will do,
you can choose to pray your life through. If prayer be the power you think,
why do many who pray escape with drink,
why see what a doctor will say,
why not sit home and pray? Why do we fight with fist and gun,
why so much hate under the sun,
so many prayers, so many years,
so many deaths, so many tears. It is our world, our life to live,
our energy and love to give,
we need to believe in here and now,
and come to those terms somehow.
