I JUST WANNA WRITE

Have my best thoughts been said?
Or are they yet to flow?
Are they still in my head?
Through words each day, I'll know.

I have many thoughts half-written,
just waiting for some time,
for when I'm just sitting,
alone with this mind of mine.

I don't want to bake a bread,
I don't want to make a bed,
I don't want to wash the car,
I don't want to sit at a bar,
I just wanna write.

I don't want to wash the floor,
don't want to go to the store,
I want to sit and write more,
until my bottom and hands are sore,
I just wanna write.

I want to write what I know,
I want to write what I hear,
and things and people inspire me,
I want to set these thoughts free,
I just wanna write.

I want to write for you,
I want to write for me,
I have so many, many thoughts,
I'd like all the world to see.

I can write all night,
I can write all day,
there never seems to be an end,
to what I'd like to say,
I want to write of love,
I want to write what is true,
I want to do it for me,
I wanna write for you.
