INSTANTLY
In the same moment that we live,
death is knocking at some door,
in the same breath we know,
another mind goes forever blank. In the same way we reach out,
another branch falls by the wayside,
in the same thunder we hear,
another heart will break. In the same instant we understand,
another prayer remains unanswered,
in the same way we recognize the signs,
another one will go without. The hard, cold world remains,
but for those who go onward,
for the gravity continues its pulling,
and the rain will continue to fall.In the same instant the water boils,
it has changed forever,
in the same way we are but a dream,
nothing is ever to be understood. In the same breath we come in being,
another though will be destroyed,
in the same manner we go on seeking,
another myth will become shattered. In the same way that we were taught,
in the same way that we may doubt,
in the same way we've come to respect,
we've seen it all turned around. In the same lifetime it takes to build,
in the same mind that such be created,
in the same manner as dreams will survive,
and in the end, nothing will ever remain. In the same instant that you will know,
that you've not really known at all,
in the same moment the mountain will rise,
and the lightning strikes the great tree down. For once in a lifetime such is seen,
the same moment as it is gone,
the small may remain, and yet,
shall rise and become the greatest ever.
