HALF WAY THROUGH FOREVER
Half way through forever,
just the thought is enough,
is it something beyond our ability,
is it beyond human stuff? For forever implies,
no end and no beginning,
just on, and on, and on,
it can get your head to spinning.Look out at the skies,
and know that there is no end,
no wall to hit, no edge to fall from,
no limit on time to spend. If space has no place,
to start or to end,
then of what do we know,
what message do we send?Forever indeed is a long way,
of time there can be no thing,
for nothing is really known,
what can a tomorrow ever bring?Lives begin and lives end,
like wheels turning round and round,
for all that you've ever lost,
is the same as you've always found.A black hole to never and ever,
sixty billion light years away,
and we think we know so much,
as we know how to wish and pray. There is no time called today,
there is no place called this way,
there is everything and nothing to say,
there was no needle in the hay. There is nothing to know,
and we know it so well,
there is nothing to buy,
and everything to sell,
we hear the ringing,
but there is no bell,
for no one can ever buy,
unless someone wants to sell.
