THE SPEED OF NOW
Is NOW but this moment,
as it ticks on by,
always replaced by another,
do you ever wonder why?Is NOW but this hour,
sixty minutes ticking away,
enough time to think, to dream,
so that some feelings will stay.Is NOW this day, week or year,
is NOW, this lifetime that is here,
is NOW of all we are aware,
and the unknown brings fear?Is NOW all there ever is,
it is one lifetime moment to tick away,
there are no clocks or calendars,
in the natural scope of play.Is NOW, a measure of time,
is NOW, a heartbeat,
is NOW the distance we can run,
is NOW a measure of our feet?A lifetime is all there is,
it is our NOW to use,
it is our NOW to be clear about,
it is also our NOW to lose. Each mind controls itself,
many can't accept the role,
they shrink from the responsibility,
they fear their own heart and soul.Stars crash and planets collide,
solar systems fall apart,
all that was ever is to be no more,
all known in each mind and heart. We are the nature that runs the show,
each of us in our own private way,
we each know our role so well,
but none of us will ever say.
