YOU'VE WAITED
 

You've shown your love,
you've shown your friendship,
you've shown you care,
you've waited for me.

I've said I'd return,
but I didn't know when,
the time was long and hard,
I've waited for this day also.

Nothing has changed,
yet, nothing remains the same,
seasons have cycled,
and so have we.

We've felt love,
we've known the pain,
we've been quiet and alone,
we've waited to unite again.

The walks of life,
we've taken plenty,
we've known both sides,
now the sun shines again.

I've seen the world,
from big and from small,
I've seen it from both,
the inside and out.

Time has ticked,
snow has fallen,
and much sand has,
been rearranged.

Love remains,
friends for a lifetime,
I feel you so deep,
so very deep inside.
