WHERE IS HEAVEN ?

You can search forever,
through galaxies,
throughout the universe,
behind each star,
on every planet.

You can search with all things,
with radar and rockets,
with telescopes,
with missiles and lasers,
with binoculars and microscopes,
what will you find?

Where is the spirit?

You can check every x-ray,
check each body scan,
check a body,
part by part,
tissue by tissue,
piece by piece,
what will you find?

These things live in the mind,
it is what one wants to believe,
it is by choice to imagine,
but, not to be found in reality.

You can believe what you choose,
you can imagine all you want,
for, when we are gone,
with a brain gone cold,
Where then is imagination ?
Where then is our thought ?
Where then is heaven ?
When then lies the spirit ?

Believe what you will,
follow who you follow,
imagine what you imagine,
think what you think,
say what you say,
be what you be,
cling to what you cling.

Say what you want,
say what you will,
disagree all you want,
argue until forever.

I believe what I see,
I believe what I feel,
I believe what makes sense,
I believe by simple reason.

Does it matter anyway?

I'm sure it does not,
as when it rains,
all is washed clean away.

Nothing has or will change,
by any of us,
for any we think,
for any we believe,
for any we imagine,
for any we want,
for any we wish,
for any we hope,
for any we pray.

Nothing has or will change,
by any of us,
for any we agree,
for any we disagree,
for any we fight,
for any we accept,
for any we can't accept,
for any we won't accept,
for any we live for,
for any we die for,
for any we fight for,
for any we fight against.

If we lead or follow,
if we care or not,
if we laugh or cry,
if we live or die,
nothing has or will change.
