CHAIN REACTION
 

It grows on us,
so little by little,
it mostly is not even noticed,
as our world evolves.

Like all things,
are meant well,
many have become,
quite disastrous.

Our food changed,
little by little,
faster and faster,
more and more convenient.

It became more unhealthy,
little by little,
and we became more aware,
long after the fact.

The fat and the sodium,
from processed foods,
all developed,
to make life easier.

People growing,
little by little,
generation to generation,
it has become quite accepted.

The car manufacturers,
developed sport utility vehicles,
they have caught on quite well,
selling into the millions.

Our health care costs,
have been rising and rising,
and now have become,
a very big and important issue.

Is it coincidence,
that along with people,
becoming heavier,
that these vehicles sell so many.

Is it coincidence,
that along with people,
becoming heavier,
that health care costs have risen.

Is it coincidence,
that along with people,
becoming heavier,
that new movie theaters open,
with much larger seats.

Is it coincidence,
that along with people,
becoming heavier,
that the airlines,
also made bigger seats.

Is this a chain reaction,
going on out of control,
as people grow and grow,
and pretend to be happy.

It has become,
a problem we all pay for,
so what can we do,
to help out one another.

The things that people,
blindly follow behind,
don't care one bit,
about real problems in life.

If anything is to get fixed,
if anything is to change,
if anything will be improved,
it is up to you and me.

What part can we play,
to show that we care,
what can be done,
to help one another.

I write these words,
to open some minds,
to show I care,
to help as I can.
