==============
BETWEEN THE LINES
==============

Line one is where you begin,
it can start with a slap,
your engine gets jump started,
and life has begun.

The final line is when you expire,
all energy has been consumed,
you return from where you came,
only memories will remain.

Between the lines,
the game is played,
for a unknown length of time.

Some smiles will be smiled,
some tears will be shed,
some lines were waited in,
some bills have been paid.

Some pizza and burgers,
have been consumed,
some battles have been won,
many will have let you down.

Things that were wished for,
or for those that you have prayed,
all of the planning done,
all of the preparation made.

The thing we do most,
the thing we should do best,
is to be ready for reaction,
for that, is truth between the lines.

Reaction to the cards dealt,
reaction to what comes along,
reaction to what you encounter,
or to what encounters you.

Reaction to those you meet,
reaction to opening your mail,
reaction to the love that may come,
and to friends who may leave.

Reaction to all we do,
reaction to what does us,
reaction to battles won,
and to those we feared to fight.

Reaction to how we feel,
reaction to how we think,
reaction to good times and bad,
it's life between the lines.

All planning turns to reaction,
all hoping results in reaction,
all wishes change to reaction,
all praying is just the same.

Reaction is nature in action,
as you see the world through,
for all in nature does the same,
it all works out just right.

Between the lines,
it's your life to live,
your time to spend,
to energy to consume.

You can spin your wheels,
you can cry FOUL all day,
you can sit and wait,
you can wish and pray.

No on cares,
what you do,
for all are consumed,
with their own game to play.

Between the lines,
don't waste away,
no fear is worth fearing,
just react to today.

Take charge of your life,
take charge of your mind,
take charge and wake up,
so you are better able,
to react to each play.
