IN A BLINDING SECOND

In a blinding second,
all you cling to can go,
at the speed of sound and light,
it happens as quick as you know.

In a blinding second,
all the light can be black,
it can all be taken,
and never given back.

Those who live in the present,
don't have that much to fear,
for they enjoy the time they have,
always knowing the end can be near.

In a blinding second,
for those who fear change,
may have no options left,
but to gather and rearrange.

For those who sit and wait,
for life to move them again,
who don't really do much,
but think to back when.

For those who don't believe,
for those who doubt today,
for those who feel hurt,
and choose to stay this way.

In a blinding second,
to bad can become worse,
you may feel that you,
are under some negative curse.

If you sit and dread,
another day to live,
if you sit and wither,
with nothing left to give.

Be sure, it will come your way,
for life brings what you think,
if your fill your mind with doom,
you are living on the brink.

We each choose,
with our own free will,
with what to fill our minds,
be it action, or still.

In a blinding second,
that choice could be made,
if you don't decide to live,
life is the price you've paid.

No one can rescue,
those who run and hide,
no hands can reach you,
to pull you safely inside.

In a blinding second,
you were alive on this earth,
in that short time span,
you first lived at your birth.

The thought of that time,
should stay with you inside,
to keep you tuned in,
to know you've tried.

In a blinding second,
comes life, death and love,
there is nothing to cling to,
see how clouds float above.
