WHEN YOU TURN OVER THE KEYS
 

When you turn over the keys to your life,
you will not control it any more,
you will do as another wishes,
and you don't know what lies in store.

When you turn over the keys to your life,
and give in to the pain and the fear,
you are in for quite a bumpy ride,
you won't let anyone ever come near.

When you turn over the keys to your heart,
saying I'm yours, do as you will,
you do this with trust and hope,
that it is a love that time can't kill.

When you give control to another,
and each day you regret it more,
and look for ways to recover and escape,
and finally find the key to the door.

When you turn over the keys to your life,
and lets others decide what is best,
and do and feel what THEY all say,
don't blame THEM when it is all messed.

When you find yourself in pain and worry,
and you are in the grips of fear,
and mistrust and doubt run your days,
and it continues year after year,

You must stand before your mirror,
and don't turn your back and walk,
you must remain in sight of YOU,
and you must have a OPEN talk,

You must come to terms with WHAT you want,
you must come to terms of WHO you will be,
you must come to terms of TAKING charge,
and take ACTION and end the misery.

You must talk day after day,
you must talk night after night,
you must not stop the talking,
until everything is just right.

You must be serious and WANT to change,
you must be willing to pay the price.
you may need to alter many things.
you may need to make some sacrifice.

It is your life, and ONLY you,
can decide if you won't or will,
or you can just forget it all,
and go sit and forever be still.

Nothing changes until YOU decide,
for it is YOUR key to turn,
put it in and turn the lock,
free yourself, love, walk and learn.
