THE SAME EYES

The same eyes,
that see pain outside,
can see purity within,
the same eyes.

The same mind,
that says I never will,
can be a power of strength,
the same mind.

The same emotions,
that scare you to trust,
can become a friend to all,
the same emotions.

The same dreams,
you are scared to believe in,
CAN someday be yours,
the same dreams.

The same voice,
that calls you a loser,
WILL cheer you to victory,
the same voice,

Those same eyes,
you see in the mirror,
KNOW the real you inside,
those same eyes.

The same child,
you knew not long ago,
the YOU that smiled and laughed,
the same child.

Life is where you left it,
when you changed your route,
it is there waiting to continue,
to again know what happiness is about.

The same route,
that took you away,
can lead you home to self,
the same route.

The same reason.
to face a new day,
has not changed,
the same reason.

Those same eyes,
that don't trust,
have seen trust before,

Those same ears,
that don't believe,
used to work just fine,

That same heart,
that's full of doubt,
used to be one of cheer,

Those same lips,
that can't speak in love,
were once a joy to behold,

That same hand,
you're afraid to extend,
used to be so warm,

The same person,
who is lost and afraid,
I'd like to find again.
