SUDDEN DEATH

The term that is used,
in hockey and football,
applies to us each moment,
for one and for all.

Sudden death can come sudden,
in the midst of anything,
it can bring to an end,
the songs that you sing.

The moment we spend,
the ones we waste away,
the ones we try to save,
and those we cherish most.

Those moments will become,
but dust after sudden death,
for there is nothing to cling to,
not a single thing at all.

Rather than spending today,
planning for tomorrow,
we should live life as it comes,
capturing, and loving each moment.

When the game has ended,
and we no longer exist,
not much will be remembered,
about how we REALLY lived.

For we live life within,
not many know us at all,
and that which both us most,
is but meaningless stuff.

Get what you can from today,
spend each waking minute ,
be at ease with life and nature,
smile as the world smiles with you.
