OBSERVATION OF NOW

Sit and look at that clock on your wall,
take a close look at the second hand,
it is really YOU, ticking along,
it is your life, you understand.

Notice the hand, how small and thin,
as it just ticks along,
a small thin hand, on a face so big,
and that is what creates the wrong.

The face so big, the now so small,
it is how most observe time,
most of the attention paid to future or past,
not too much on the now.

As you watch the hand, go tick, tick,
and watch it go round and round,
it may to you seem going nowhere,
it may seem to you like in a rut.

The hand doesn't pause after each tick,
and wait for someones approval,
or look in the mirror,
or wonder how it is doing.

The hand is not racing around the face,
as if there is somewhere to GET,
and doesn't wipe its brow each time,
or say how tiring this is.

Each tick is a perfect tick,
each tick is the only tick,
each tick is a brand new tick,
each now is the only now.

The hand doesn't mind you watching,
it doesn't stop to worry if you approve,
it doesn't wonder why you watch,
the hand only knows how to live.

Each tick is a very long time,
for someone who is in pain,
each tick goes much too fast,
for someone running too late.

Of course to watch that clock go tick,
or to spend hours in front of a TV.
are both to watch your time tick away,
and both are your life ticking away.

We all know that time is an illusion,
the world and universe don't care,
but, it is something in which,
we should all be aware.

For our life is nothing but time,
as fragile as a melting ice,
and the more we watch the ice melt,
the more of our life we waste away.

We need to make our time into joy,
we need to find worth in our time,
for life was given for us to enjoy,
we owe it to ourselves to make that so.

Don't sit and wait for a someone,
to bring happiness to you,
don't sit and wait for the moment,
to finally discover how to live.

Learn to live in the NOW,
learn to find pleasure HERE,
learn to find happy for YOU,
learn from that happy second hand!
