ON A DIFFERENT PAGE

We came from places far apart,
when at first we met,
with the love that grew in our hearts,
we put the past behind, to forget.

We created a life anew,
it was our very own book,
we added to the pages as love grew,
it became a complete US look.

As time went by, a day at a time,
we soon became more aware,
you had your page and I had mine,
and less and less did we share.

Now the story is the same,
as we are still here as one,
and we share the same name,
but now much different has begun.

Now we at different places,
in the book that we made,
at times we are strangers faces,
and many dreams begin to fade.

For although we gave what we had
we seemed to drift apart,
and to reflect is so very sad,
we gave time, energy and our hearts.

It is life defined as we live,
that we are on pages that differ,
and no matter what we can give,
it is different lives we prefer.

People grow together, and apart,
as interests and priorities change,
even the strongest love at the start,
may require to be rearranged.

It is not so much that love does stop,
it seems to lose it's place,
soon all that was so important is dropped,
different needs to be chased.

Life goes on all around,
everything doing their thing,
a new song, a new sound,
and a new bell to ring.
