PLEASE TALK TO ME

Please talk to me,
let's stop the hurt and pain,
let us try to discover,
if our love can live again.

The silence of our years,
has just got to stop,
there is too much tension,
one can hear a pin drop.

Where has the laughter gone,
the plans we made and shared,
it seems a lifetime ago,
when you last said that you cared.

Please talk to me,
I want to try somehow,
I want us to stay together,
but we must begin here and now.

I know there are so many people,
who no longer laugh and talk,
who have grown so far apart,
who don't even take a walk.

We can make this work, if we try,
if we can act more mature,
to communicate like adults,
we can find out for sure.

Please talk to me,
I'll listen to what you say,
I care about what concerns you,
we can work things out some way.

And, please hear me,
when I talk to you,
give me a chance to express,
please, hear me through.

Perhaps things have gone too far,
perhaps we can't work things out,
Please talk to me so we can find,
and finally, and lastly, remove the doubt.
