THE VINES OF TIME

The vines of time,
disguise so well,
what lies ahead,

As each vine,
we clear away,
reveals more vines instead.

The bends in the road,
we attempt to transverse,
never seem to end,

For each one,
we work to straighten,
only becomes yet another bend.

If you turn around,
and look behind,
all you can see, if you dare,

Are bends in the road,
all covered in vine,
as if no one ever was there!

Focus your energy,
on the day at hand,
never seek future or past,

For what was,
as well as what will be,
are well beyond your grasp.

It is NOW you breathe,
it is NOW you love,
focus your senses HERE,

For it is much too soon,
your time melts away,
each tick, brings it more near.

Learn as you go,
learn as you grow,
that all you have is time,

Time to live,
and time to love,
and trust nature is fine!

Teach your children,
to smile and laugh,
and to happy to live,

And that their time,
should be used,
to love and to give.

As we pass to our children,
all that we know,
it is our one common goal,

To show them love,
to give them the hope,
and to give them reason to grow.
