MY WISH

I know how you have hurt,
I see it in your eyes,
I know what you have been through,
all the cheating and the lies.

You, my fragile wonderful friend,
whose dreams have all been shattered,
you who gave so much of your love,
you gave of yourself, all that mattered.

I wish, if I could hold you near,
that I could erase all you've seen,
I wish I could take you back,
to recreate your dream.

I wish I could love away,
all the wrong that has been done,
I wish I could make all perfect for you,
fill you with wonder and fascination.

All I have to give is my word, my hand,
my understanding, my caring,
my shoulder, my friendship,
and what happiness that might bring.

I wish you days of gentle breezes,
and a million stars at night,
the flowers may smile upon you,
to assure you that all is right.

I wish the world to be at peace,
and no more hurt and pain
I wish we could join hands and sing,
and laugh as we dance in the rain.
