DO IT FOR YOU

When standing at the crossroads,
unsure which way to go,
trust the child within you,
that you knew so long ago.

The child you once were,
that you have left behind,
the source of all you've looked for,
but have been unable to find.

When needing a reason,
to go on from here,
rely on what is within,
before the pain and fear.

Do it for you,
the small child you were,
eyes full of wonder,
faith and love so pure.

One day you were young,
dreaming a million dreams,
then it was suddenly different,
just yelling and screams.

Childhood interrupted,
in the middle of a dream,
the child left puzzled,
life stolen, it seemed.

Now you are wiser,
but confused remain,
looking for identity,
in search of a name.

Do it for you,
who has waited for years,
the child deep within you,
go calm all the fears.

It is the key to you,
you must connect again,
allow yourself to drift back,
picture the wonder of then.

Soothe yourself, know in your heart,
you have found what was missing,
then recall the years of emptiness,
felt even through hugs and kissing.

Do it for you,
the one left behind,
a life full of promise,
never thought to find,
eyes full of surprise,
the wonder of rain,
joy at the little things,
that being a child brings,
be happy within,
you have found YOU,
make YOU the center,
of ALL in life you will do,
cherish that child,
hold tight to that dream,
make your life HAPPEN now,
YOU have found HOPE again!
