WHY I WRITE
 

I don't write to entertain you,
though, I HOPE you enjoy,
I don't live in a fantasy,
prayers and wishes, I don't employ.

I enjoy life, each waking hour,
I realize that many are unable,
I try the best as I can,
to put truth and insight onto the table.

If I am able to help,
one person, in some way,
by sharing positive thought,
then THAT, has made my day.

I am a person, just like you,
and express thought in word,
I am a student of life myself,
and plenty of negative I have heard.

I believe in myself,
and what I pursue,
is to share my happy thoughts,
and be friends with you.

I share with you what I think,
I share what I truly believe,
I trust you as my friend,
I trust you'd never deceive.

I don't pretend to know it all,
that would be telling a lie,
I do know how to enjoy each day,
and I am always telling you why.

The internet is a wonderful thing,
it puts us all in touch,
while many use the same as TV,
and they don't talk too much.

I value it for what it brings,
the opportunity we could meet,
I hope we can talk and be real people,
just as we would on the street.

In life we can play or watch,
the choice is completely our own,
I would rather be alive and play,
than to see a program thrice shown.

I would like to talk with you,
from that we can both grow,
our world needs people to care,
in talking, caring does show.

I know many are hurt and sad,
and don't like much to talk,
I try my best to reach to you,
they reach, then think and balk.

We are here in life,
to care for one another,
it is my desire some day,
for us, to be like, sister and brother.

I repeat many of my thoughts,
just turned slightly around,
I know that each has a trigger,
and reacts to a different sound.

I know many can't believe,
many others try their best,
I know that I am but a stranger,
and each day I must pass your test.

I believe in who I am,
I believe in what I try,
I named this poem "Why I write",
now I've told you why.
