CAN, AND I CAN'T
 

I can show you the direction,
I can't make you to walk,
I can fill you with ideas,
I can't make you to talk.

The breeze blows to lead you,
but you must choose to follow,
I can pour you the water,
I can't make you to swallow,

I can be your guide and teacher,
I can be your coach and friend,
I can't make you believe me,
I can't make you to bend.

I expose you to what I am,
I expose you to what I believe,
I can't make you to accept me,
I can't make your fears leave.

I can be a positive in your world,
I can fill you with what you can do,
I can't make you ambitious,
I can't do anything for you.

You must be willing to try,
you must believe that you can,
you must want to do for yourself,
that is how I began.

I can't create your hunger,
I can't create your need,
all I can do is make you aware,
but YOU must nurture your seed.

You have it all within you,
you have all that it takes,
but you know your priorities,
and in life, we've all made mistakes.

I can give you my time,
I can't create your desire,
I can give you my energy,
I can't light your fire.

I can give you all the reasons,
but I can't tie your shoes,
I can guide you to the junction,
but I can't make you choose.
