AGAINST THE GRAIN

We are alive by the grace of God,
this is what most people would say,
God rules the worlds of us all,
each and every night and day.

All that happens is in HIS power,
every wrong and every right,
all who believe pray to HIM,
before retiring for the night.

If all that happens is God's will,
isn't praying going "against the grain?"
Isn't it like second guessing HIM?
Asking HIM to think again?

To believe, have FAITH and TRUST,
we must HONOR what HE does,
to pray for HIM to change,
seems a confusion amongst us.

How can we honor and love God so?
And sometimes along the way,
decide that we don't like his WILL,
and ask HIM to answer as we pray?

I'm not a believer in any of this,
I only comment on what I see,
I only ask people to think,
but, that is Ed, it's only me.
