IT'S ROUGH

It's rough to care,
and to pretend that you don't,
it's rough to say you will,
when you know that you won't.

It's rough to say that you understand,
when you haven't got a clue,
it's rough to deny,
the stubbornness inside you.

It's rough to give your all,
when no one cares at all,
it's like building a ceiling,
without even one, solid wall.

It's rough to be around,
those who whine, moan and groan,
I want to call them a cab,
for a one way ride back home.

It's rough to be here,
while you've gone away,
it's rough just never knowing,
if you'll come back one day.

It's rough being here alone,
with such love in your heart,
it's tough to go on smiling,
while we're so far apart.

It's rough to begin,
it's even rough to end,
it's rough to know and realize,
that start and end will blend.
