LINGER A MOMENT

Linger a moment,
in this space and time,
allow your thoughts,
to mingle with mine.
don't be so quick to turn away.

Linger a moment,
on the edge of your dream,
allow the happiness to float,
imagine all is as it seems,
don't be so quick to leave.

Linger a moment,
on this edge of life,
how long is forever,
for that is how long before you live again,
don't be so quick to give up.

Linger a moment,
with the words on this page,
that I've sent to you,
know that I know, know that I care,
don't be so quick to dismiss.

Linger a moment,
for all that has gone,
and the energy spent,
know that if you won't change,
tomorrow will remain the same.

Linger a moment,
and allow this idea to sink,
that someone could know and care,
and someone can be so aware,
don't be so quick to not believe.

Linger a moment,
this moment at hand,
and decide what life is for,
beyond such a daily routine,
don't be so quick to dismiss the thought.

Linger a moment,
allow your mind to be free,
and discover what you want most,
and if not you, who will do it for you,
don't be so quick to give it away.

Linger a moment,
return to forever,
is it far, or near at hand,
for each tick could be our last,
don't be so quick to think not so.

Linger a moment,
imagine your scene without you,
what is it you'll leave behind,
what was your main impact,
don't be so quick to pretend.

Linger a moment,
think of a friend,
someone who really knew,
someone who is with you now,
don't be so quick to judge.

Linger a moment,
and search within,
and find the core of you,
your being and your meaning,
don't be so quick to ignore.

Linger a moment,
in your search of the self,
and come to the real of real,
that YOU control who you are,
and YOU control how you feel,
don't be so quick to say no.
