If you've ever hoped, or thought you might,
If you've ever held your loved one tight,
If you've ever cried all through the night,
Then, you know me.

Those nights alone, you thought you'd die,
he left so suddenly, and no reason why,

The morning comes, a new day has begun,
you decide to forget him and have some fun,

All day spent making new friends,
walking the mall, seeing the trends,
getting totally engrossed with odds and ends,

Night is here, going out to dance,
going with some friends, to take a chance,
meet someone new and invite romance,

The night is fine, the music is hot,
this sure beats staying home to rot,
a guy comes along, but you'd rather not,
Then, you know me.

You decide, it is time to start,
no longer to just give away your heart,
you are going to begin playing smart,
Then, you know me.

You've had enough of being used,
of taking shit, and being abused,
watching these losers getting boozed,
Then, you know me.

You've known nature face to face,
always there, but without a trace,
now, you're going to win the race!
