FRIENDSHIP,
BEYOND THE COMFORT ZONE
 

I was trying to raise some funds today,
trying to turn a big deal,
ran across a new friend,
whom I've only known a couple months.

This new friend is working a new venture,
it can't as yet pay his way,
he is living off his credit cards,
yet he offered to help me in any way.

Friendship, beyond the comfort zone,
is what I saw displayed,
for friendship can't be measured in time,
and family are not always friends.

Many who can help, turn a deaf ear,
or suggest you try someone else,
always afraid to say the simple words,..
I DON'T REALLY TRUST YOU !!

A person, backed up against the wall,
offered his friendship and his trust,
the ACTION was so loud, so clear,
Friendship, beyond the comfort zone.

I'm still attempting to raise more funds,
and expect more and more deaf ears,
as it is not a fun thing,
to deal with mistrust and fears.

It is always the times in life,
when you face the biggest challenge,
when you learn the most about who,
is not wearing a mask through life.

So many pretend,
so many play the role,
so many SEEM to care,
I found friendship, BEYOND the comfort zone.

For anyone who knows me well,
for anyone who knows me long,
I'm offering three in return,
for every one loaned.

I would never have written this piece,
if not for what I learned today,
how a simple question showed,
friendship, BEYOND the comfort zone !!
